CALL FOR INTEREST: Coordinating Editor of Reviews

(Deadline Extended – August 15) This position is primarily responsible for receiving, assigning, and overseeing all aspects of the review process for CDs, books, and other media reviewed in The Saxophone Symposium. Work will occur year-round. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Timely communication with members of NASA who wish to submit materials for review Assigning materials for review to pre-selected Symposium reviewers Communication with pre-selected Symposium reviewers to ensure reviews are thorough, fair, and completed in a timely manner Timely communication with the editor about matters pertaining to the Symposium, including regular updates on assigned reviews, deadlines, and other pertinent matters How to Apply  To apply for the position of Coordinating Editor of Reviews, please submit the following materials to Bobbi Thompson at symposium-editor@saxophonealliance.org  A one-page letter of interest describing your knowledge and skills that are pertinent to the role A one- to two-page CV that highlights the background and experiences that make you a strong candidate for the role  Materials will be reviewed by the Symposium Editor, Assistant Editor, and Director of Scholarly Initiatives, with final approval coming from the NASA Executive Committee. 2026 NASA Seed Grants

The North American Saxophone Alliance’s Professional Development & Engagement Committee invites applications for Seed Grant support for projects that advance the saxophone and/or promote the instrument in the wider world that will occur between October 15, 2026, through September 30, 2027. We welcome and encourage projects that involve all musical styles (including interdisciplinary work) and support people of underrepresented identities. Seed Grant awards provide up to a $300 stipend. Grants may be used at the discretion of successful applicants to cover expenses such as travel, printing, operational costs, or honoraria. Eligibility Any individual applying for a NASA Seed Grant must be a member of the North American Saxophone Alliance at the time of application and through the duration of the proposed project. No currently serving member of the NASA Executive Committee is eligible to apply. The project must have demonstrable value to individuals or groups beyond the applicant. Preferably, the project will have value to a wide body of saxophonists and/or will promote the saxophone within wider communities.
