We are very happy to announce that Dr. Vanessa Sielert has been named the new Region 1 Director, while Jennifer Tenford is taking the reigns as Director of Region 9, following many years of excellent work in those roles by Idit Shner and Glen Gillis, respectively.
Dr. Sielert writes, “My name is Vanessa Sielert and I am thrilled to accept the position of Region I Director of the North American Saxophone Alliance. I am currently Professor of Saxophone at the University of Idaho where I have also served as Associate Director (2014-17) and Director (2017-2023) of the Lionel Hampton School of Music, and currently serve as Education Advisor of the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. As a longtime member of NASA, I look forward to putting my administrative skills and passion for the saxophone to use to help make a stronger community!”
Jennifer Tenford writes, “What I love about NASA: In an often divisive world, NASA is a catalyst that gathers together diverse people of all ages and abilities, uniting us through our shared love of the saxophone.”
